tbody style="border: 0px solid black;">Gerald Simons, PA-C Gerald Simons (Jerry) has b
een involved in AASPA since he was in PA school. He was involved in the ne
gotiations with the American College of Surgeons allowing PAs to become aff
iliate members as well as take ATLS and receive a certificate of completion
(in the past, PAs took ATLS and were given a letter of attendance). He de
veloped the very successful Pre-PA program and spearheaded the development
of AASPAs winter conferences in January, which focused on POCUS training.
He currently and Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University and teaches
the AASPA fall suturing courses. After decades of in-hospital surgical PA p
ractice, he has transitioned to private practice where he maintains an inte
rest in the gut microbiome, hyperbaric medicine, and challenging wound care
cases. |
Erin Sherer,
EDD, MPAS, PA-C, RD Erin Sherer is a PA currentl
y practicing in New York City. Her work experience as a physician assistant
includes surgical critical care, emergency medicine, and PA education. She
enjoys all aspects of PA education, including working with students. In ad
dition to being a PA, she is also a registered dietitian and is passionate
about nutrition and fitness. She has been involved with AASPA since 2004.

Margaret H
olland, MPAS, PA-C Margaret Holland is a gradua
te of the George Washington University Physician Assistant (PA) Program and
has been involved with AASPA since 2015. She is a dedicated Surgical PA wi
th more than 11 years of healthcare experience including a nursing backgrou
nd in the field of pediatric cardiology. She currently practices as a surgi
cal PA at Boston Children's Hospital in Massachusetts, in the specialty are
a of pediatric congenital cardiac surgery. Prior to this, she spent several
years in the Northern Virginia area working in adult cardiothoracic and va
scular surgery. She is passionate about working with AASPA's students and P
As, and desires to see them fulfill their dreams in healthcare. As former D
irector of Education, she has taught workshops and the Pre-PA/PA Student tr
ack for several years as well as being involved with CME development and th
e publication of AASPA's periodical Sutureline. As current President-Elect,
she remains involved in these activities and is a PA representative for th
e Council on Surgical and Perioperative Safety (CSPS) which influences prac
tices of operating rooms across the US. In addition to being a PA, she is
a strong advocate for merging medicine and art, using classical ballet trai
ning for current active performing, teaching, and choreography.

Michelle Dellene, BSC, MMS, PA-C, RYTMichelle Dellene Heine, PA-C is a passionate surg
ical physician assistant striving to bring excellence to all her patients.
She has experience in trauma neurosurgery, aesthetics, general surgery, and
robotics. She strives to deliver high quality care, enthusiasm, and optimi
sm. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology & Cell
Science from the University of Florida in 2013 and her Master of Medical S
cience from Nova Southeastern University in 2016. During the COVID-19 pande
mic she became a registered yoga teacher and lifestyle coach and currently
is working as an entrepreneur with the mission to Heal the Healers. Her 202
2 goal is to open her own surgical practice with an emphasis on lifestyle m
edicine and philanthropy. |
