We give special thanks to our outgoing BOD members who have dedicated a great deal of time and energy into making the American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants successful: Jerry Simons, Erika Nigam, Jon VanHorn and Kayla Mclaughlin. 

  • Congratulations to our member of the month, Christian Bridges, PA-C! Christian has expertise in breast oncology surgery and she co-founded a novel breast surgery rotation for PA students across the country. If you would like to nominate someone to be the next Member of the Month, please fill out the form on our website.


  • Please join us for our annual Continuing Medical Education Conference in Houston, Texas October 13-16, 2022. Registration is LIVE! If you are unable to attend in person, we will have a virtual option. If you are interested in being a speaker, or participating in the poster presentation, please check out the conference information on our website for application information.

  • Our FCCS course was successful and we are already planning another one later this year! Please check our website in the coming months for more information.

  • Please join us for our PA Student Networking event on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 7pm CST. You must be an active PA student in order to attend. Please register for this event on our website.

  • Thank you for participating in our annual survey. We are working on tabulating the results and will share them with you soon!

  • Applications for the Susan and Tom Lusty Memorial Scholarship are due on July 15, 2022. Please apply if you are interested. 

  • Are you a PA student who is graduating soon? If so, please check out our previously recorded webinar about transitioning from PA-S to PA-C.

  • Sutureline, the official journal of the AASPA, was published last month. Please be sure to read it online and provide us with any feedback. If you would like to submit a clinical article for publication, we are always accepting submissions (including student articles!).
